Special Lecture at Toho Gakuen Vocational School of Broadcast Technology
On September 19 (Thu), XR LIVE Production Department Producer Yukinori Watanabe gave a lecture on XR technology and real-time computer graphics and conducted practical training using an AR camera in the “Virtual Production” class for first-year students in the Broadcast Technology Department of Toho Gakuen Vocational College. In the first part of the lecture, he explained the history of XR, the transition of AR technology, and AR systems while showing actual live character videos and schematics he had worked on. The second part of the lecture was spent in the school’s TV studio, where the students tried their hand at real-time motion capture. This time, we utilized “mocopi™︎,” which is portable and can perform motion capture anywhere. Students were asked to act as actors and performed with Hinode-chan of LATEGRA. The students were very interested in Hinode-chan, who suddenly appeared, and eagerly asked questions about video signals and camera tracking systems in AR systems. We hope to have more opportunities to share LATEGRA’s knowledge and experience with you in the future, and we are happy to support students who are aiming for the world of XR.
